Biography: There’s a large tattoo on Keith Cook’s forearm that reads, simply, “REMEMBER.” It reminds him never to forget where he came from, not just the successes, but the mistakes, which gave him the will power that brought him to the present, ready to present his music to the world.

“Wondering,” a sexy contemporary R&B song which reflects Keith’s roots in soul and modern-day hip-hop, featuring his forceful falsetto and a rock-hard, Florida bass-heavy street rhythm, is the first single from the Florida native’s forthcoming solo debut album on his own The Establishmint Music, founded with Curb City Studios owner Aaron Johnson.

“I’ve always wanted to do this,” says Cook. “I just needed to find the right people who believed in what I was doing and put me in a position to succeed.”

Cook has already had a chance to experience stardom. In Norway, he joined his friend Øyvind Sauvik, one-half of the popular Norwegian hip-hop duo The Paperboys, contributing several songs, including the Gold single, “Find My Way,” and such national hits as “Moving Up” and “RaRa.” Cook performed with the band at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival with No Doubt, and opened for Destiny’s Child. He quickly became part of the self-declared “AA Clique,” which included the Paperboys as well as fellow Norwegian rap group Madcon, who have since had a U.S. hit with their cover of the Four Seasons’ “Beggin’.”

Before he became a success in Norway, Cook survived an arrest for robbery when he was a teenager, spending three years in jail, where he honed his songwriting skills by coming up with hooks for several rappers he knew on the outside. He was also a lightweight champion belt holder on the mixed martial arts Extreme Fighting circuit. In the midst of all that, Keith made good on his own vow to return to high school and get his degree, all the while working an overnight construction job from 7 at night to 5 in the morning. As you can see, when Keith Cook sets his mind to something, he usually accomplishes it.

Music wasn’t something he was interested in right away, even though his mother, a church choir director, forced him and his two brothers to join the vocal group. As a kid, his mom played gospel music around the house, while his father turned him on to Motown classics like The Four Tops and the Temptations. “We loved Michael Jackson back then,” says Keith. “It was a melting pot of all different kinds of music.”

It wasn’t until he was 16, though, while behind bars serving his sentence that he taught himself to write songs.

“It was something to do to pass the time,” he says, but it soon became a passion.

When he was released from prison, Keith began to hone his skills with a cousin, producer Mardio Lattimore, who taught him “the finer points of harmonies, structure and composition,” though he never did actually learn to read music.

“I never really had any vocal coaching,” says Cook, though he does both the leads and all the background harmonies on his own recordings. “I’m not musically inclined. I can’t tell you an eighth-note from a quarter-note, or an A from a B-flat, but I hear harmonies in my head, then I record what I hear. That’s pretty much how it goes down.”

Since completing his first single “Wondering”, Keith has begun laying down the rest of the tracks for his debut album at Big 3 Studios.

“That’s just one song,” Keith cautions us not to jump to conclusions about what the rest of the album will sound like, while citing J. Holiday and Jeremih as two current favorites. “I have a contemporary R&B edge with a throwback flava to the vocals, but my writing is basically modern-day hip-hop. I don’t want people to pinpoint me as solely urban, because I’ve got some real pop-oriented tracks as well. You’ll have to hear at least half a dozen songs to get a grasp of my writing style, versatility and vocal ability.”

With his chiseled body, six-pack abs and raw sensuality, Keith Cook knows he’s a magnet for the ladies, but he’s hoping the men will come check his music out, too.

“I have songs from a guy’s point of view, too,” he says. “But visually, yeah, I’m trying to appeal to the women. I want to keep my image down-to-earth, real, though.”

With the album nearing completion, Keith Cook is ready to take his act on the road.

“I want to perform everywhere, really get my music out there,” he says. “Give people a chance to find out who Keith Cook is here in the U.S., just like they already do in Norway.”

Florida Native Sets Up Indie Label, The Establishmint Music, With Curb City Studios’ Aaron Johnson.

The first thing you notice about R&B/hip-hop singer/songwriter Keith Cook is the message, “REMEMBER,” tattooed on his forearm.

It’s a reminder never to forget what he’s gone through to get where he is right now, having released a brand-new single, Wondering,” a sexy, contemporary, R&B track which reflects Keith’s roots in soul and modern-day hip-hop, featuring his distinctive falsetto and a rock-hard bass-heavy street rhythm that marks him as a Florida native.

The track is from Cook’s forthcoming solo debut album on his own The Establishmint Music, co-founded with Curb City Studios owner Aaron Johnson.

Biography: Serious music lovers first became aware and were touched bye the Melodic voice of Dwayne Ellis while as lead singer of a group "The Links" they entered the British talents and song writers contest semifinals in 1975 at the Heathrow Airport Hotel, and being the only Black group that participated they literally fell overboard when it was announced that they had in fact won. A number of gigs followed up and down the country and included two charity gigs one in aid of homeless kids which was recorded and shown by the BBC, the for battered wives has the most memories, "WHY CANT WE GET TOGETHER" is a song Dwayne wrote some years ago and when heard by the late Marc Boland the latter was so impressed that he took the tape to a friend of his Dave Watson who worked for a leading recording contract: but once more things were not to happen for Dwayne, things just did not work out the way he anticipated and he asked for the contract to be dissolved. On this, his first commercially with his new Company Dwayne now hopes and prays to god that success will follow: All the songs on this Album with the exception of "Evelyn White" (with courtesy of Alex Hinds)were written bye himself; He sings with Tracey King on the track you and me baby". Biography: The past four decades marked the rise of Christian fundamentalist “The Queen of Reggae Gospel” Claudelle Clarke. This period manifested the distinctive and pioneering talent encapsulated in Ms. Claudelle Clarke, who hails from the parish of Kingston, Jamaica. Claudelle attributes her musical talent and initial musical socialization to her family, particularly, her parents Linda and Joslyn Clarke. In spite of her talent being girded in the pedigree and bequest of her lineage, at the age of 60, Claudelle insists that the gift she possesses transcends the fictional silhouette of just fame and fortune. Indeed, her sojourn reflects those earlier periods in Claudelle’s life which were merely a ritualistic practice of Christianity until she came into a deeper intimacy with her God. As a result, to date, Claudelle carries a mantle of over 41 years of ministry, but quickly enlightens us that she started her career as a secular artist. Her secular experiences date back to her hanging out at Studio One with Bob and Rita Marley, Peter Tosh, Alton Ellis to name a few. Additionally, she sang back-up for the song “Sweet Beat Rocking Down Orange Street” by Prince Busta. Truly, Claudelle Clarke is remarkable. Like so many of her contemporaries, Claudelle began her public singing platform in the church choir. At six years old she sang on the Sunday School Choir of the New Testament Church of God, in Yallahs St. Thomas (Jamaica) along with her sisters Millicent and Carol Clarke. It is no surprise therefore, that given the natural talent she was imbued with and the range of singing experiences she gained among her family and within the church community, that Claudelle recorded her first hit single at the age of thirteen years old. The hit was “Seven Days Make One Week” on the Treasure Isle Label. In reminiscing, Claudelle gives description to experiences she has had in earlier years of her ministry. She recounts an incident where she was the “guest artist” of a concert; yet was commissioned to pay her admission as a patron of the same gospel concert. Additionally, she recalls being thrown off stage by a recognized Clergy who felt she was unworthy to perform because of her inappropriate hair style (Afro), which did not reflect the tenets of Christian virtue. These experiences has honed her as a minister and as shaped her character with resilience. Thereafter Claudelle’s musical career catapulted and has been unstoppable since. After being re-commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ in 1968, Claudelle produced six songs “Just As I Am”, “He Touch Me”, “I Saw The Light”, “After All”, “God Is A Mountain” and “Not My Will”. These songs popularized her work and talent and have made her a household traditional Jamaican Gospel singer. Her calling, however, was not geographically bound; consequently, between 1983 and 1993 Claudelle’s ministry spanned the parameters of the Canadian landscape. During this period, her ministry focused on live performances. However by 1997, she reconvened her work in the recording studio. This occurred after Derrick Morgan spoke with Lloyd Campbell of the Joe Frasier Production Label. The product was the dynamic and historically significant album “Reggae Songs of Praise”. This album featured collaboration with Denzel Dennis. The “Prayer” and “Reggae Songs of Praise Vol. 2” were both distributed by VP Records. Additionally, Claudelle later produced solo albums “The Best of Claudelle Clarke” and “Live for Jesus”. As a result of her hit songs, she has received numerous incontestable awards such as the Life Time International Award and also was inducted into the IRAWMA Hall of Fame. World, brace yourself for Claudelle’s newest work of art “The Journey” produced by Hugh Campbell from the Studio Max Record Label. Showcased amongst the hits on this album is “It took a Miracle” featuring Leroy Smith, former member of The Grace Thrillers. Helping to create sounds resplendent of the reggae gospel genre with an African grounding is former Third World Drummer and Percussionist, William Stewart featured in “Freedom of Speech” and also renowned singer Paul Watson from the Ambassabors giving a fantastic vocal collaboration in “Lord unto you”. Her music is spiritually motivating and uplifting. It has the power to get audiences on their feet every time, singing, clapping and praising the Lord together in unison. More importantly however, it acts as a catalyst that convicts the sin-sick soul to be transformed and motivates individuals to deepen their relationship with the Lord. Evangelist Claudelle Clarke continues to avail herself to the work of the Lord through her inimitable style of music. She will continue singing in her unique original style, spreading praises throughout the world.

Biography: Melody has always played an important role in the life of FL Jones. From performing for the amusement of his father’s friends at the local barbershop at the age of 5, to singing backups for Celine Dion at a private party attended by statesman from around the world; the music has always come first. The music of his older siblings left a permanent mark on the development of this artist. There was a simple magic in Stevie, Donnie, Prince, Aretha, and Parliament. The blue lights, the coconut incense and cocoa butter lotion, all of these sounds and smells can be found in his music. Although a member of the Hip-Hop generation, FL was always more drawn to bands, live instrumentation and musicality. He developed his performance skills in night clubs, theatres, and industrials across the eastern U.S. He soon began writing and producing demos for others, refining his skills as a songwriter. When he felt he was ready, he made the move to New York city. 6 months after arriving in New York, FL landed a leading role in the Australian Company of the Broadway musical “RENT” produced by Cameron Macintosh. While performing in Australia, he became an Aussie sensation. Performing as a solo artist in front of millions on various television programs; culminating in an interview and pictorial in Australian “Rolling Stone”. After a year, FL returned to the states where he was cast in the “RENT” National Tour. After some time on the road, FL was ready to make his mark as an artist and a songwriter. Biography: Tenry Johns has come a long way from his humble beginnings in a small town in the Delta called Shelby, Mississippi. He started his own band at the age of 15 while he while still in high school. After graduating in the mid '60s, his family moved to Chicago. Shortly after hitting town, Tenry looked up his cousin, notable local singer/ songwriter and performer, Johnny Drummer, and the two started playing together regularly. Eventually, Tenry and his brothers formed "The Johns Bros. Band" with the fabulous Denise LaSalle and Bill Coday fronting the band. After years of performing around Chicago and surrounding areas, Tenry met Harry Glen from Marvel Records. They worked together on releasing his first 4 song EP. Some of his other experiences include teaming up with the Gemico label recording group called "The Notations", and as the bandleader for the touring band, "Nitro". After the group broke up, Tenry's focus turned to writing and producing his own songs. Tenry's latest release: "Moving On" is his fourth self-produced CD on the Tenry Music label. Like his previous releases... * So What * Need Your Love * In Here Tonight .. "Moving On" continues to offer up funky grooves, upbeat blues and rockin' soul with an occassional touch of country/rock here and there.
